Your tasks:

At the Institute for Nanotechnical Plastics Applications (INKA), we shape the future of innovative materials. With our expertise in plastics engineering and nanotechnology, we develop sustainable and high-performance solutions for the challenges of tomorrow and work closely with partners from research and industry.

As a research associate in resorbable polymers, you will work on various scientific and application-oriented tasks of our industrial partner, who is the main financier of this position.

  • Development of new resorbable polymers for applications in coatings or medical products
  • Polymer synthesis and characterisation, processing by fibre spinning or electrospinning
  • Biomedical application development (surgical sutures, tissue engineering, medical textiles)
  • Publication activities, patenting, market analysis and development as well as validation of prototypes
  • Supervision of bachelor/master students in the context of research activities, occasional responsibility for laboratory equipment

Your profile:

  • Completed master’s degree in materials science, chemistry or textiles, ideally complemented by a doctorate in the context of resorbable polymers
  • Experience in the fields of synthesis and processing of resorbable polymers, fibre spinning, polymer analytics is essential; experience with injection moulding would be a plus
  • Practical laboratory experience is a must, industrial experience in the subject area is desirable
  • Good English skills (project-related communication) are essential, German skills are desirable
  • High self-motivation, independent working style, teamwork and openness are indispensable for working in a scientifically exciting and application-oriented environment

The position is initially limited to 2 years.
