Within the project DRYMET that seeks to quantify risks from heavy metals to drinking water resources, you will support the project leader in laboratory column experiments that simulate extreme climate events. Your duties will include setting up and running experiments with soil cores, taking samples, separating them into size fractions, and preparing them for analysis. You will conduct UV-Vis spectrophotometric and organic carbon analyses of aqueous samples.

You will also support the evaluation of the experimental data, thereby contributing to the complete research process. Depending on your background and interests, there will be opportunities to gain knowledge on various aspects of soil functioning.

For this internship, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental sciences or chemistry is required along with basic experience working in a laboratory. Working proficiency in English or German is essential. The ability to learn quickly and work independently is highly valued.
