Help with meal preparation and distribution, assist students and encourage a fun and safe atmosphere during mealtimes

• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must have knowledge of food product compliance and food safety
• Must have experience with Point of Sale System
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural, urban setting and develop a rapport with students, staff, parents, and the school community

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and/or walk, may be required to lift up to 30 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

• Assist with preparing and serving meals
• Operate point of sale system
• Assist with kitchen and dining area cleaning duties
• Assist with restocking food service lines between meals
• Monitor and assist students during the meal time
• Make sure that student meal time is as enjoyable and safe as possible
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Money handling experience preferred

Must be Serv Safe Certified

School cafeteria environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature or issues related to cleanliness.
