About NIQ and Media Measurement: NIQ’s Media Measurement unit delivers audience measurement solutions across TV, radio, digital, and cross-media platforms for currency clientele, including broadcasters, advertisers, agencies, and regulators. A core component of our measurement approach are panel-based methodologies, leveraging household and individual panels to ensure accurate, representative audience insights.

About Telecontrol / GfK Switzerland: Telecontrol, part of GfK Switzerland, develops advanced television and radio audience‑measurement systems for one of the world’s leading market‑research organizations. Our solutions are created within a SAFe® Agile Release Train of 15 SCRUM teams, working closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high‑quality and adaptable products.

As a member of our R&D organization of 18 engineers and IT specialists—and specifically within the Hardware & Embedded Systems team—you will design, develop, enhance, and test the embedded software powering GfK’s audience‑measurement meters. You will collaborate with experts from electronics, software, systems engineering, and multimedia to bring reliable, secure, and innovative devices to life.

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for GfK’s measurement devices.
• Contribute to architecture, system design, implementation, and verification activities.
• Work closely with hardware engineers, system engineers, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and product quality.
• Support secure software deployment and ongoing improvements of existing components.
• Participate in automated testing, continuous integration, and structured release processes.

Technical Skills &

Qualifications:

• Core Expertise: Strong experience in C/C++ for embedded systems; knowledge of bootloaders, device drivers, and low‑level system concepts.
• Tools & Build Systems: Experience with build tools such as CMake, Make, and Ninja.
• Scripting & Automation: Experience with scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, and Bash.
• Operating Systems: Good understanding of Linux, Embedded Linux, Windows, and RTOS such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
• Hardware & Interfaces:
  
  Experience with microcontrollers such as STM
  32, Nordic, and Renesas, and processors such as ARM‑based or RISC‑V; understanding of USB, Ethernet, GSM/LTE, I2C, SPI.

Nice to Have:

• Interest in interdisciplinary work across software, electronics, and multimedia.
• Experience with Android or iOS application development.
• Familiarity with secure software deployment.
• Experience in automated testing, test management, or release management.

Soft Skills:

• Fluent in English, with a good understanding of German.
