Overview
JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. The Global Emergency Solutions Specialist will oversee the management and coordination of urgent cargo transportation across a diverse range of commodities, serving all our global industrial verticals and beyond. The primary mode of transport will be airfreight, often requiring seamless integration with pre-carriage and on-forwarding solutions. The specialist must ensure timely quotation, pick‑up, delivery and maintain exceptional customer satisfaction, requiring a deep understanding of global logistics, airfreight operations, and the capability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
The focused products will be “NFO – Next Flight Out”, “OBC – On Board Courier” and “SCH – Small Charter” Solutions. The position can be located in any EMEA country.
- Provide a tailored transportation solution based on the customers’ requirements.
- Ensure the seamless execution of time‑critical airfreight shipments, from initial booking to final delivery, maintaining strict adherence to timelines and client specifications.
- Continuously track the status of all active shipments to provide real‑time updates as well as proactively identify occurring upcoming issues during the transport chain and execute corrective actions to ensure safe and in‑time delivery of the cargo.
- Act as the primary point of contact toward the customers.
- Prepare and be able to verify all necessary shipping documents, including airway bills and documents provided by the customer.
- Coordinate closely with countries and branches in the EU and overseas.
- Conduct operations in early and late shifts (MON to SUN) with compensation days in line with local labor law.
- Able to read, write, speak, analyze, and interpret moderate business correspondence in English.
- Highly skilled and experienced in airfreight operations.
- The candidate must either already hold a valid airworthiness certification in their respective country or be eligible to obtain one (e.g., ZÜP certification in Germany).
- Strong understanding of logistics, pricing structures, and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Capable of resolving issues and challenges quickly and efficiently, maintaining operational integrity and client satisfaction.
- Exhibits a high level of self‑motivation, taking initiative to meet and exceed job expectations without constant supervision.
- Detail‑oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Able to interact positively and effectively with co‑workers, subordinates, and supervisors.
- Ability to work in and access airfreight‑secured environments, in accordance with the regulations of the country where the employee is based.
- IATA Haz Mat training will be required; a training course will be arranged if not certified at this time.
- The role requires the employee to meet the conditions of the aviation security programs of the countries covered for the position.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
