Position Overview

As the Import/Export Specialist, you will be a key member of the Logistics team, reporting to the Logistics Manager. In this role, you will ensure accurate, compliant, and timely customs and transport documentation for all inbound and outbound goods, working closely with internal teams, customs authorities, suppliers, and carriers to support smooth, legally compliant cross‑border operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and check all required customs and transport documents in line with legal regulations.
  • Send customs documentation on time to carriers, customers, suppliers, and other partners.
  • Coordinate daily with customs authorities, carriers, and warehouse providers regarding planned transports and customs clearance for CH/AT/CH traffic.
  • Verify import documents and customs duties provided by suppliers and correct them according to applicable regulations.
  • Support the team by covering business hours for goods receipt and goods issue.
  • Handle and resolve customs‑related complaints in a timely manner.
  • Work with the control customs office (KZS St. Margrethen) on spot checks for incoming and outgoing goods.
  • Communicate with carriers to ensure timely and correct customs clearance documentation.
  • Prepare and renew necessary permits and maintain proper records of all clearances.
  • Prepare documentation for inward processing and keep up to date with VAT, customs law, customs duties, and customs procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Completed training as a customs declarant with a federal diploma or extensive experience as a customs declarant or within customs administration.
  • Strong knowledge of customs processes and proven experience in import/export operations; experience with CH–AT–CH border traffic is an advantage.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office and SAP; familiarity with customs applications such as E‑Dec, NCTS, and relevant customs portals.
  • Preferably basic knowledge of English.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly to support team coverage when required.
  • Fluent German speaker.

Please note that this role is 32 hours per week.
