Distribution Center Team Lead, 2nd Shift | $28.22/hr

This is a SECOND SHIFT position, working Monday - Friday, 3:30 pm - 12:00 am in Sycamore, Illinois. The advertised hourly pay includes the shift differential.
Responsibilities- Follow all safety procedures.
- Responsible for driving and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
- Act as working leader of a functional operations group (e.g. Shipping, Receiving, and Return Goods).
- Develop and execute the daily work schedule including assigning work, rotating employees as necessary and prioritizing tasks.
- Ensure products are received, shipped, counted, and handled according to work instructions, meeting all quality requirements. Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action when necessary.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement in warehouse operations, including safety, quality, and productivity.
- Understand and use the company inventory system as directed by management. Complete documents to report shipping and receiving records.
- Ensure employees within area of responsibility are trained and/or cross-trained on tasks and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain equipment; notify maintenance when needed and perform or direct routine maintenance.
- Provide feedback to the Manager/Supervisor on employee performance and development opportunities.
- Assist Manager/Supervisor in managing attendance and scheduling time off.
- Other related duties as directed by management.
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written multi-step directions for semi-complex tasks.
- Visual acuity and hand dexterity to package and assemble a variety of materials.
- Color and depth perception may be required for selected tasks.
- Ability to perform routine computer data entry and queries.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to read and follow job instructions, complete written forms, and effectively communicate with others.
- Ability to provide day-to-day floor leadership to a diverse work group.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and make informed decisions related to area of responsibility.
- Computer proficiency, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, AS400 and Outlook.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of progressive experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 lbs up to 64 inches, occasionally lift up to 25 lbs for up to 64 inches, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, lift and carry 42 lb bucket 10 ft, push and pull up to 50 lbs of force at waist height.
- Must be able to continuously stand/walk and/or sit during a 9 - 10 hour shift, frequently squat/crouch, reach, and bend. Frequently step up and down a 12" step and operate hand controls of a mechanical lift.
- Hot/cold temperatures based on seasonal variations.
- May be humidity, noise, odors, dust.
- Safety precautions are a must to minimize exposure to mechanical hazards.
The rate of pay for this position is $28.22/hour, which includes a $1.50/hour lead differential. This represents a good faith disclosure of compensation.
