Precision Davenport Set‑Up Machinist

• Own set‑up and operation of Davenport screw machines to meet spec and schedule.
• Read and apply shop drawings, process sheets, and procedures.
• Use precision measuring instruments and QC software; maintain attribute/SPC charts.
• Document materials and route parts correctly to the next operation.
• Perform daily machine care: lubrication, cleaning, chip removal.
• Select proper tools and materials; perform minor maintenance and adjustments.
• Partner with supervisor, engineering, and maintenance for problem solving.
• Keep a tidy, safe work area and support other machines as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent; typically 1–3 years related experience.
• Readable and interpretable shop drawings and process sheets; strong communication.
• Proficient with whole numbers, fractions, decimals; able to hold close tolerances.
• Practical problem solver with flexibility; respectful, team‑oriented approach.
• Able to learn Driv‑Lok computer systems.
• No supervisory responsibilities.

Work is performed in a factory environment with moving mechanical parts, noise, oil, and smoke. Employees use automatic precision machines and precision measuring instruments. Hand and fork lift trucks, scoops, weight scales, and copy machines are also used.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Tasks require standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and bending. Visual acuity for close inspection is required.
