A day in the life

You arrive to your cell, review the job card and scanner input for the day, and set up multi-spindle Davenport equipment for the next run. You select the right materials, install and adjust tooling, and perform daily lubrication, cleaning, and chip removal. After dialing in the first piece, you verify dimensions with precision measuring instruments and an optical comparator, log results in attribute and SPC charts, and move material to the next operation with proper documentation.

Throughout the shift, you monitor machine performance, make minor mechanical adjustments, and collaborate with your supervisor, engineering, and maintenance to resolve issues quickly. You keep the area organized, maintain strong safety habits, and pitch in on additional machines when business needs demand it. Before end-of-shift, you complete suspect sheets if needed, split lots appropriately, and ensure records are accurate in our systems.
