Job Description

The Youth Services Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of Anchor Youth Space. Working closely with the Manager and site staff, the coordinator provides reception, administrative, and organizational support, helps coordinate services and programs, and contributes to a positive, welcoming experience for youth accessing the space

Primary Areas of Responsibility

Youth Engagement, Administrative & Reception Support

Duties and Responsibilities Youth Engagement
  • Embrace a holistic approach to youth well-being, informed by the Pan-Canadian Guiding Principles of IYS, the social determinants of health, and EDIRAA principles
  • Welcome youth and caregivers, fostering a positive, inclusive, and youth-friendly experience
  • Connect youth and caregivers with appropriate services, programs, and supports
  • Provide timely communication and follow-up with youth, caregivers, and team members
  • Support group programs and drop-in services to ensure they meet the needs of youth and align with Anchor Youth Space programming
  • Maintain a welcoming environment, including stocking snacks and beverages in common areas
Administrative & Reception Support
  • Answer and direct phone calls, relay messages, and make referrals as appropriate
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and email correspondence

  • Participate in team meetings and organizational activities as required
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of effective solutions
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and confidentiality in all interactions involving employees, clients, volunteers, and organizational information

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduate from a recognized Office Administration, Business or Secretarial Diploma Program preferred
  • Minimum (1) one year of relevant experience required; (2) two years preferred. Experience working with youth and caregivers required
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Applicants relying on education and experience equivalencies must clearly demonstrate such equivalencies in their application
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain timely and accurate electronic client records required
  • Proficient in MS Office computer applications and file management, and email programs
  • Ability to provide services in person, by telephone, and virtually required
  • Demonstrated compassion, empathy, diplomacy, and sound problem solving skills
  • Experience working with and advocating for individuals and communities facing vulnerability and systemic barriers
