This permanent role focuses on delivering comprehensive instruction in Mi'kmaq language alongside Social Studies curriculum. The Centre is committed to equity and diversity, actively encouraging applications from Indigenous Peoples, African Canadians, and other underrepresented groups. Successful applicants will implement culturally responsive teaching strategies for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement Mi'kmaq language and social studies lessons
• Manage classroom behavior and promote positive learning experiences
• Engage with community partners for student growth
• Use technology to support diverse learning styles
• Apply inclusive teaching methods and assessments
Requirements:
• Requires a valid Nova Scotian Teachers Licence
• Proficient in the Mi'kmaq language necessary
• Background in working with Indigenous communities preferred
• Solid understanding of Mi'kmaq history and culture
• Strong skills in classroom management needed
