Salary scale for NSCC Faculty ranges from $78,771.88 to $, with potential for up to nine steps based on experience. New Faculty may receive up to five steps for occupational experience and an additional four steps for full‑time equivalent years of instructional experience, for a maximum of $97,388.02.

Responsibilities
  • Provide theoretical and practical instruction in Related Subjects programming, specifically in the areas of organizational behaviour, computer applications (Microsoft Office courses), technical communications, career readiness, industry readiness, and human resources.
  • Collaboratively design and deliver educational experiences for a diverse group of learners, including preparation, instruction, assessment, and evaluation using flexible teaching practices and technologies such as Learning Management Systems (e.g., Brightspace) and classroom technology.
  • Ensure health and safety practices and procedures are followed in classrooms, shops, and labs.
  • Maintain currency with the latest industry practices relevant to the program and continually develop an understanding of 21st‑century teaching and learning practices. This position may involve different delivery modalities (in‑class, online, blended), off‑site instruction, and alternate work hours such as weekends and evenings.
  • Related duties include, but are not limited to, academic and career advisement, participation on committees, program marketing, curriculum revision/development with faculty working groups, support and monitoring of work placements, liaison with business and industry, representation of the College as required, and upholding NSCC policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum educational qualification: a relevant undergraduate degree with a major in the related subject area such as Business.
  • At least five years (full‑time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in general School of Access, Business, Creative Industries and Education practices, including experience in general business practices, technical communications, business computing, and human resources.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Teams).
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with business and industry in the field.
  • Comfortable working in a digital environment, proactive in acquiring knowledge about advancing technology, and committed to using technology to support an exceptional student experience, including multimedia technologies and various platforms for engaging students in online and blended learning.
  • Ideally, related experience in delivery of educational programs or training to adults.
  • Experience providing performance feedback will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience applying WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and occupation‑specific safety practices.
  • Comfortable using multimedia technologies and platforms to engage students in online or blended learning contexts, including building knowledge of best practices for course delivery and management using a learning management system.
