Cape Breton University is looking for a dedicated Lab Instructor for Mathematics, starting September 2026. In this role, teach vital labs in Calculus and Statistics for introductory courses.
This temporary 4-month position is available in the Department of Mathematics, Physics & Geology. Ideal candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or physics and relevant teaching experience. The position aims to enhance students' understanding through hands-on lab sessions while supporting their academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct students in math labs, focusing on Calculus and Statistics
• Create engaging lab activities that strengthen course concepts
• Provide guidance and evaluate student work effectively
• Collaborate with faculty to enhance curriculum delivery
• Encourage an inclusive learning atmosphere for all students
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or physics
• Previous experience teaching at the post-secondary level
• Passion for promoting diversity and inclusion
• Excellent interpersonal and communicative skills
• Willingness to support student learning needs
