Department of Education, School of Education and Health at Cape Breton University seeks an 8‑month limited term appointment in Science Education at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (depending on current achieved rank). The position commences August 17, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of science education spanning grades Primary to 12.
- Teach within the Bachelor of Education program, working with pre‑service teachers.
- Deliver instruction in multiple modalities, including online and in‑person, and be willing to teach in different locations.
- Provide evidence of effective teaching and contribute to the university’s teaching and service commitments.
- Show potential and commitment to teaching, service to the university, community, and profession.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant area.
- Relevant terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) is an asset.
- Experience teaching online and working with pre‑service teachers.

- Curriculum vitae including a list of publications.
- Evidence of effective teaching.
- List of at least three references. Short‑listed candidates will provide reference letters.
