Dillon is a well‑established, employee‑owned professional consulting firm operating across Canada and internationally. We provide a wide range of consulting and design services related to the infrastructure, real‑estate, resource, industrial and government sectors. We are currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Environmental Scientist/Engineer within our Contaminant Remediation Group .

The successful candidate can be based at any one of our following offices:
Saint John, Moncton, Halifax, St. John’s, Fredericton and Sydney.

Responsibilities
  • Manage environmental projects including site assessment and remediation, risk assessment and risk management, and regulatory compliance monitoring
  • Provide technical and professional leadership to multi‑disciplinary project teams including engineers, scientists and technologists
  • Design remediation programmes or risk management measures for impacted soil, groundwater and soil vapour at contaminated sites
  • Liaise with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, sub‑consultants and subcontractors
  • Contribute to the development and coordination of client relationships and business growth
  • Contribute to client/revenue acquisition and internal team growth to deliver the business
  • Support business development activities including proposal preparation and presentations
  • Travel as required for business purposes
Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology or environmental science, or equivalent
  • Licensed to practice as a professional engineer or geoscientist, or eligible to be licensed within six months
  • Experience with a variety of client types, including federal government departments, private industrial clients, municipalities and First Nations
  • Proven project management experience
  • Minimum of 15 years’ relevant work experience
  • Valid driver’s licence
Experience
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining excellent client relationships
  • Proficient in the completion of one or more of the following: groundwater resource evaluation, protection and management; phased site assessments; development of conceptual site models; remedi­al options analysis and evaluation; remedial action plan development; detailed designs, cost estimates and tender packages for remediation projects; design and implementation of compliance monitoring plans
  • Track record of successfully managing environmental projects and mentoring junior staff
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, codes and standards
  • Strong report‑writing, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
