• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for custom electronic enclosures, ensuring they meet both functional and aesthetic requirements.
• Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams to create comprehensive design solutions that address customer needs.
• Conduct thorough analyses and simulations to validate designs, using tools such as CAD software and finite element analysis (FEA).
• Participate in prototype development, testing, and iteration processes to refine designs based on performance feedback.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications, assembly instructions, and maintenance guidelines for manufactured products.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for design optimization and implementing best practices in engineering processes.
• Support the manufacturing team during the production phase, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
• Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and technologies to ensure Protocase remains at the forefront of innovation in mechanical design.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Participate in project planning and management, ensuring that timelines and budgets are adhered to while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Conduct regular reviews of existing designs to identify opportunities for enhancements or cost reductions.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical insights throughout the project lifecycle.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the electronics or manufacturing sector.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Works or AutoCAD for creating detailed design models and drawings.
• Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to mechanical engineering.
• Experience with FEA and other simulation tools to analyze and validate design performance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
• A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.

• Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and technologies, such as 3D printing.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and product safety.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and their application in product design.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused engineering environment.
• Certification as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or equivalent is a plus.
