We are currently looking for a Reliability Advisor to join our Energy Delivery team in a permanent position to provide continual engagement with provincial and municipal government officials, enhance NS Power's presence in the communities that we serve, participate in community and customer events, and share ongoing details on NS Power's reliability strategy.
Reporting to the Manager, Reliability Engagement, you will be responsible for working closely with the Energy Delivery, Enterprise Asset Management and Communications teams as our teams work together to enhance the reliability experience and relationships with our stakeholders. You will also work closely with Energy Delivery operational personnel and members of the Energy Delivery Reliability team in the execution of our reliability strategy.
The Reliability Advisor will engage with customers and stakeholders throughout the communities within their region of accountability and serve as a liaison to ensure a common understanding between NS Power and our customers of the reliability issues being experienced and the measures we are taking to improve reliability. The Reliability Advisor will work with stakeholders to understand the challenges from their perspective and provide insights regarding NS Power's reliability strategy.
Keyelements of this role
- Providing oversight and coordination of customer reliability issues, acting as a liaison with customer stakeholders, NS Power management, and internal teams that impact reliability performance. This includes actively representing NS Power in public forums, meetings, and community discussions related to reliability performance.
- Supporting NS Power's engagement with customers and stakeholders by preparing briefing notes, presentation materials, and reliability action plans that reflect NS Power's commitment to transparency and accountability.
- Reviewing reliability reports to identify areas of concern and enabling proactive communication with stakeholders regarding performance and improvement plans.
- Attending and actively participating in meetings, forums, and events with customer stakeholders and community groups to discuss reliability-related matters and delivering presentations on key aspects of NS Power's reliability strategy through open, two‑way communication.
- Collaborating with Regulatory and Communications teams to deliver key messages on reliability initiatives and projects to customers, government stakeholders, and key advocates.
- Working closely with field operations and communications teams to develop communications materials, including written and video content; participating in or producing short video field reports is an asset.
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to safety by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

- You have at least five years of related experience, preferably working with Electric Utilities. You also have an understanding of the issues that impact reliability of service and the measures that are taken to address the issues and improve reliability of service.
- You are highly organized and demonstrate excellent communication skills that allow you to interact effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders and partners.
- You are a team player, possess a high level of initiative, and have an ability to deliver presentations effectively to a variety of audiences.
- You are comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline driven environment with the ability to handle multiple deliverables. You are also comfortable working independently.
- You have a general understanding of how electricity is delivered to our customers.
