The Data Scientist will be a pivotal member of the Enterprise Data and Analytics Team, responsible for developing and implementing advanced analytics and AI models. The role involves building robust data models and leveraging Microsoft and other AI and data technologies to ensure data solutions, accessibility, and usability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities AI Modeling & Documentation- Develop models to support AI and automation use cases across Meridian
- Develop GenAI and LLM models
- Work closely with data engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders
- Analyze large and complex, structured and unstructured data, preparing AI-ready data models
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data science models, conduct peer reviews of AI and other predictive models
- Research, code, develop and implement advanced analytics and AI models
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and AI technologies
- Ensure AI models have proper documentation and model transparency and that they adhere to responsible AI framework
- Collaborate with data analysts, senior data scientists, and stakeholders to understand and deliver on data requirements
- Help define AI and automation use cases and requirements, assessing technical feasibility
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and data mining techniques; nice-to-have: cloud computing
- Proficiency in Python programming language
- Knowledge of Java programming language
- Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of SQL Server and T‑SQL programming
- Experience with Power
BI for data visualization and reporting - Familiarity with MS Fabric for data integration and management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices
- Experience in developing and managing ETL pipelines
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Good verbal and written communication skills, conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
- Experience:
2‑4 years in data science and Microsoft technologies
CAD $68,800 – $100,000
Compensation is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range. Recruiters will share more information about the total rewards package during the hiring process.
