Marine Atlantic seeks a Certified Engine room Assistant for permanent full-time positions working on vessels from Port aux Basques, NL and North Sydney, NS. This role demands 3 years of relevant experience and necessary certifications, including a 4th Class Motorship or Engine Room Rating. You will maintain safety standards, assisting in both operational and maintenance activities on the vessel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep machinery spaces clean and hazard-free

• Safely manage fuel, lube, and chemicals

• Stand fire watches and learn vessel layouts

• Assist in all maintenance activities

• Promote a safe working environment

Requirements:

• 4th Class Motorship or equivalent certification

• Valid STCW 6.1 and 6.2 Certificates

• Transport Canada-mandated Marine Medical Examination

• Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience

• Ability to lift and work in confined spaces
