Job Title: Dental Assistant – Journey – Sylva

Recruitment Range: $37,440 – $49,312
Location: Sylva, NC
Department: School of Dental Medicine, East Carolina University

Responsibilities
  • Assist 4‑handed dentistry as directed by dental students, residents, and faculty dentists.
  • Prepare patients and manage patient flow throughout the session.
  • Access and chart patient information per staff instructions.
  • Monitor patients’ blood pressure and sedation status as needed.
  • Participate in dental exams and procedures.
  • Follow OSHA standards for hand washing, masking, gloving, and disposal of contaminants.
  • Monitor patients during treatment and address any concerns.
  • Perform dental X‑rays as ordered by the dentist.
  • Transport patients to and from treatment rooms as required.
Qualifications
  • High‑school diploma or equivalency and completion of an accredited dental assisting program, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Preferred: CPR certification and radiology certification.
