Position: Certified Medical Assistant- Full Time, Harris Pain Management

We offer an optional $1,500 Sign-on Bonus for Medical Assistants. A 1-year commitment period is required. The Bonus payout occurs over the 1-year period.

Position Summary

Medical Assistants are integral members of our healthcare team. We offer on-the-job training and a career assistance program to help you become a Certified Medical Assistant.

Duties include assisting with the direct care of patients as well as other clinic activities such as preparation and information documentation for the patient’s visit including obtaining vitals, medical history and other pertinent information from the patient. Prepares exam rooms for patients. May assist with procedures as directed by the Provider. Assists with collection of lab samples.

Travel required between Harris Regional Hospital, Swain, Franklin and Haywood Regional Medical Center, mileage will be reimbursed.

What we’re looking for
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous medical experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Preferred qualifications

We will consider a Certified Nurse Assistant for this role, certification is required.

Physical and Environmental Qualifications

Extended periods of walking, standing, bending and stooping may be required. Ability to hear clearly and have visual acuity necessary for computer use. Ability to do repetitive work, keyboarding and writing. Ability to lift 25 pounds.
