Our 14‑bed Emergency Department maintains a 4:1 RN:patient ratio. The team includes RNs, CNAs, Paramedics, Secretaries, and Providers, creating a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional care. We handle a variety of patient experiences, from abdominal pain and shortness of breath to chest pain, with an average daily volume of 50‑70 patients.

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to the patient’s condition and age.
• Perform timely and appropriate documentation related to medical necessity.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely and accurate quality‑improvement assessments.

Harris Regional Hospital is an 86‑bed acute‑care hospital that has offered exceptional care to the Western North Carolina community for over 90 years. We provide five major service lines—orthopedics, cardiology, general surgery, women's care, and emergency medicine—alongside many additional subspecialty areas.

• Registered Nurse licensure in the State of North Carolina or a compact state.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.
• One year of RN experience preferred.
• Critical‑thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
