General Summary

The Nondestructive Testing (NDT) technician will independently perform inspections utilizing various advanced NDT techniques (Phased Array UT, CR, DR) to identify corrosion, defects, or detrimental conditions according to specific written criteria. The technician will perform inspections, interpret indications, and report results as per company requirements. Effective communication of processes, procedures, and results to customers is essential.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to safety standards and practices, and legal regulations; alert others regarding potential hazards.
  • Perform all duties as assigned, adhering to TEAM’s Core Values and Seven Critical Choices.
  • Supervise apprentices on the job site.
  • Maintain advanced NDT certification.
  • Perform NDT inspections for which certified.
  • Interpret and report inspection results.
  • Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the NDT field as a certified technician in at least one advanced NDT method.
  • Certified to Level II in at least one method (UTPA, Cr, DR, ET).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and computer/ computerized equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Travel requirement: 0-75%.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Work Conditions

    • Position based out of a branch or site location.
    • Field duties involve indoor and outdoor work in a plant environment.
    • Interaction with crew employees, supervisors, and clients.
    • Work around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
    • Must wear safety equipment as required.
    • Potential to work at multiple sites in a day and tolerate climate changes.
    • May require periodic out-of-town travel.

    Physical and Mental Requirements

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
    • Must be able to walk and climb, except during non-field duties.
    • Effective communication skills, with or without reasonable accommodations.
    • Good observation skills, with or without accommodations.
    • Manual dexterity for routine tasks.
    • Mobility and physical reflexes for office duties and travel.
    • Ability to access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
    • Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
    • Excellent communication skills.
