Green Hill Baptist Church is located in Sylvania, Georgia, a 30‑minute drive to Statesboro. We are prayerfully seeking a full‑time pastor to lead our congregation. We have an average attendance of 20‑25 people and would love to grow in number. We have three services weekly consisting of Sunday morning and evening services as well as a prayer meeting on Wednesday nights.

The Big Picture

Sierra Christian Church is prayerfully seeking a Senior Pastor. Our church was established in 2013, when we began by meeting in homes before purchasing the historic Beckwith Tavern. We are located on Highway 70 in the small town of Beckwourth in rural Northern California. The building has long‑standing history and significant meaning to our community. The prior owners completed a beautiful renovation of the entire building prior to us purchasing it.

The structure initially consisted of a sanctuary, one small classroom, and a fellowship area which still houses the bar from the original tavern. We use the bar area to serve a potluck lunch weekly for us to fellowship together as a family and with visitors. We currently have 73 members, with approximately 70‑80 regularly attending the worship service. Our community and church are largely conservative, yet we seek a unique blend of traditional and contemporary worship.

We are mission‑minded and support mission work in Mali, Africa;
Can‑eo, Philippines;
Sacramento, California; and Portola, California, as well as Operation Christmas Child, Peak Women’s Care, weekly lunches, pocket cross ministry, community movie nights, a fall festival, and annual community dinner. We desire to continue to grow in Christ and serve our community.

Duties and

Qualifications:

• In addition to the biblical requirements for leadership in I Timothy 3:1-7, we seek a senior pastor who aligns with our mission statement and core beliefs.
• He must love God, love our church family and the greater community, have a heart for people, and prioritize pastoring, personal spiritual growth, and relationships.
• He must have a clear sense of his calling and be led to serve as our pastor for the long haul.
• Ideally, he will preach the Word with conviction and clarity, in an expository manner.
• He must have a servant’s heart, lead by example, provide vision, and be discerning, humble, and empathetic.
• Agreement with verbal, plenary inspiration and complementarianism is required.
• A married man or widower with a good sense of humor, who fits our rural community.
• He should embrace eastern Plumas County by living, working, recreating, and connecting with residents.

Compensation: Our current tithes and offerings allow us to budget up to $65,000 for our pastor, covering salary, housing allowance, mileage, and health and retirement benefits, depending on experience.
