Independent Contractor Psychiatrist or Psych NP | Worth County Jail Worth County Jail | Georgia New SHP Site Launching December 1, 2026 Up to 2 Hours Per Week Onsite or Telehealth Independent Contractor Your Expertise Can Make a Difference Southern Health Partners is launching a new correctional healthcare program at Worth County Jail, and we're seeking a qualified Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide behavioral health expertise and psychiatric support to the healthcare team.

This is an opportunity to use your specialized experience to support an underserved population while maintaining a flexible commitment of up to 2 hours per week.

Even better, this position offers the flexibility to provide services onsite at Worth County Jail or through telehealth, depending on the needs of the program and provider. What You'll DoAs a Psychiatrist or Psych NP, you'll provide psychiatric evaluation, treatment guidance, and behavioral health support within the correctional healthcare setting.

Responsibilities may include:

Providing psychiatric evaluations and clinical assessments

Evaluating patients for mental health conditions and treatment needs

Developing and recommending appropriate treatment plans

Managing and monitoring psychiatric medications as appropriate to scope of practice

Providing consultation regarding complex behavioral health cases

Collaborating with the onsite healthcare team regarding patient care Supporting continuity of psychiatric and behavioral healthcare

Providing clinical guidance related to behavioral health treatment

Documenting clinical assessments, recommendations, and services

Helping establish effective psychiatric care processes as part of the new site launch Onsite or Telehealth Flexibility Not every clinical opportunity requires you to be physically onsite.

This position offers the flexibility to provide psychiatric services onsite at Worth County Jail or through telehealth, giving qualified providers the opportunity to choose the setting that best fits their availability and the needs of the program.

With a commitment of up to 2 hours per week, this can be an excellent opportunity to complement an existing practice or professional schedule. At Worth County Jail, you'll work alongside the SHP healthcare team to help ensure patients receive appropriate psychiatric care in a safe, structured environment.

Psychiatrist / Medical Doctor (MD or DO)
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Additional qualifications include:

Current and unrestricted professional license in the state of Georgia Current DEA registration, as applicable to scope of practice

Current certification appropriate to professional discipline

Psychiatric or behavioral health experience

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team Ability to provide psychiatric services in a correctional healthcare environment
