CIVIL ROADWAY ENGINEER

Long Island based engineering firm is seeking a talented Civil Roadway Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Apply engineering expertise in the daily operational task of preparing Plans, Specification & Estimate (PS&E), preliminary engineering reports, and roadway design.
• Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
• Responsibilities will also include maintaining client relationships and close monitoring of project costs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters of Engineering degree or other professionally recognized equivalent discipline from an accredited program.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification within the field of engineering with the ability to obtain a New York PE within 12 months.
• 2-5 + years of work experience in the field of highway design and transportation engineering
• Experience in designing highway and freeway design projects (PS&E), including horizontal and vertical geometry design, Bentley Open Roads Designer (ORD) modeling, culvert and drainage design, retaining wall design, quantity calculations, miscellaneous details and development of deliverables.
• Credible design experience in using and guiding the use of:
  Microstation, Geo Pak (Road and Drainage), Open Roads Designer (ORD), and Open Bridge Modeling (OBM).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and highway design programs required for use in completing tasks.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments both independently and within a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working experience in prioritizing and organizing work assignments.
