We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a team in Syracuse, New York. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-focused, and comfortable handling both payables and receivables in a fast-paced environment. The role will involve maintaining accurate records, processing financial transactions, and using accounting systems to keep information current and reliable.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, confirm supporting details, and prepare payments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Manage incoming customer payments, apply receipts correctly, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.
• Enter financial information into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain organized records for invoices, payment activity, and account documentation for easy reference and audit readiness.
• Use Quick Books and related tools to update account activity, review transactions, and support routine accounting tasks.
• Reconcile account details by comparing internal records with source documents and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Assist with invoice processing workflows and support any related system updates within daily operations when required.
