Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented bookkeeper to support financial operations for a hospitality organization in Syracuse, New York. This is a contract position suited for someone who can manage day-to-day accounting activities with accuracy and consistency. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in bookkeeping, maintain organized financial records, and help ensure timely reporting and account reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

• Record and maintain daily financial transactions with a high level of accuracy across bookkeeping functions.
• Process vendor invoices, schedule payments, and monitor accounts payable activity to support smooth financial operations.
• Prepare customer billing, apply incoming payments, and track outstanding balances within accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements and internal financial records regularly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Manage accounting data within Quick Books and Quick Books Online, keeping records current and properly categorized.
• Assist with audit preparation by organizing supporting documentation and responding to financial record requests.
• Support year-end closing activities, including account review, reporting preparation, and financial statement coordination.
• Help produce year-end financial reports and maintain documentation needed for reporting and compliance requirements.
