The Staff Assistant will assist the Chair in all administrative matters and drafts correspondence for Chair's signature. Assists faculty and Undergraduate Medical Education office with medical curriculum. Assists faculty with graduate curriculum. Assists faculty with preparing and submitting grants. Oversees business aspects of department core facilities, including maintaining web site for services, scheduling instrument usage, invoicing, and generating financial reports. Maintains department web site, newsletter, and other public relations media.
Provides support for the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology graduate program, including monitoring student progress reports, committee meetings, etc. Works as team with staff and chair in the department office and supervise any student assistants.
Bachelors degree and two years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities is a must. Excellent organizational, written/oral communication and computer (proficiency with Microsoft Office) skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:Administrative experience in a higher education setting preferred
