Construction Superintendent Position

Laland Baptiste is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee daily construction activities for capital improvement and renovation projects in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction supervision, contractor coordination, scheduling, and quality control, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily on-site construction activities and contractor performance.
• Ensure construction work complies with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and applicable building codes.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and project teams to maintain schedules and project milestones.
• Monitor construction progress, workmanship, and quality control.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify deficiencies requiring corrective action.
• Review construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Monitor site safety practices and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Conduct and participate in progress meetings and contractor coordination meetings.
• Prepare daily reports, maintain project documentation, and provide progress updates.
• Assist with project closeout, punch list inspections, and final completion.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in construction supervision or construction management.
• Experience with public-sector construction, capital improvement projects, or large-scale renovations preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and contract documents.
• Experience overseeing multiple trades and coordinating contractors.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain a full-time on-site presence.
