Substitute Teacher – Child Care Centers at Syracuse University
Job OverviewThe Substitute Teacher will provide classroom support to teachers, supervise children, and assist in caring for children 6 weeks to 5 years old. Duties include maintaining NYS staff-to-child ratios, diapering, toileting, and engaging in classroom activities.
Responsibilities- Supervise and care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
- Communicate with children, parents, center staff, and student employees.
- Assist in classroom activities and programming.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with young children required.
- Must successfully meet all NYS Office of Children & Family Services background clearances and fingerprint screenings.
- Position requires completed medical form and TB test per NYS Regulations.
- Understanding and knowledge of NYS Office of Children & Family Services regulations helpful.
Must be able to lift children up to 50 lbs.
