Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY, is a college of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and one of 30 locally sponsored community colleges throughout New York State. Onondaga County is our sponsor. We offer two-year degree programs that serve as transfer opportunities to baccalaureate degree programs at four-year campuses or for direct entry to the workforce. We also offer certificate programs that can generally be completed in one year.

A study group is a great way to work collaboratively with others to consolidate and learn concepts to understand the information. The main role of a study group leader is to guide their team towards an end goal. As a study group leader, they are responsible for creating a collaborative study environment, determining the direction of the study session, and encouraging participation.
DutiesInclude
- Conduct weekly study groups totaling a minimum of five (5) hours each week for students in a respective program or a specific class.
- Monitor a specific Microsoft Team established for the cohorts of student in that program.
- Work closely with the Student Navigator for that program to promote the study group.
- Connect students with campus resources & events as needed.
- Other tasks assigned by the work study supervisor.
- Must have a valid FAFSA on file
- Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA
- Must be matriculated into a program
- Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours)
- Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program
- Successfully completed at least fifteen (15) credit hours at OCC.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Familiar with D2L Brightspace, OCC e-mail, Microsoft Office and applicable software the specific college program utilizes.
- Dependable

- Pay Rate:
Starting rate of $15.50 for new Federal Work Studies. - Starting rate of $16.75 for returning Federal Work Studies
- Hours of Operations:
Monday-Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm

Federal Work Study may work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session.
Additional hours may be worked during college breaks.
