Are you a skilled bridge engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions? We’re seeking an entry-level Bridge Engineer to join our Syracuse Bridge Department and help us deliver some of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Upstate New York.

In this role, you’ll support bridge engineering projects from initial planning and design through construction support. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you’ll contribute to structural analyses, prepare design documents, and assist with field inspections. You’ll bring a strong foundation in civil or structural engineering, a willingness to learn, and a collaborative mindset to help deliver innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions.

You’ll also play a key role in shaping two of the most impactful infrastructure efforts in Upstate New York: the I-81 Viaduct Project and the Onondaga County/Micron Transportation Improvements—projects that will redefine mobility and connectivity in Central New York.

• Bridge Design:
  Work on every aspect of bridge design projects, including inspection, structural calculations, geometry layout, plan development, and construction coordination.
• Project Development:
  Assist in progressing bridge projects through the design process, including report writing, environmental permit coordination, and development of contract specifications.

  Work within a young, dynamic team in progressing challenging bridge projects, gaining technical knowledge and project management expertise from your peers and higher-level staff. Contribute to a collaborative, growth‑oriented team culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in bridge design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Micro Station/Open Roads.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Estimated Salary Range: $73,424 – $92,352*

• Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
