The VDC Lead will manage and optimize digital delivery processes in the Advanced Manufacturing sector, leading VDC/BIM/Digital Delivery management and aligning technologies with internal and client goals.
In this key role, you will provide VDC/BIM/Digital Delivery management by defining digital delivery scope for project estimates, coordinating technical setup and model deliverables, creating and implementing Design and Construction BIM Execution Plans for EPCM, integrating VDC tasks including 3‑D logistics and safety planning, 4‑D scheduling, 5‑D cost and quantity take‑offs, administering the Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud), managing clash detection and resolution, serving as a BIM subject‑matter expert, facilitating laser scan data integration and scan‑to‑BIM efforts, and managing model redline and as‑built processes.
You will also lead mobile device trainings, facilitate reality capture for progress reporting, and act as a technology lead offering in‑field technical troubleshooting and support.
You will collaborate with stakeholders, support business development, recruit, manage and mentor employees, provide daily on‑site presence, coordinate VDC activities with field operations, and create and own on‑site VDC processes.
Responsibilities- Lead VDC activities on design and construction projects, aligning with client and internal goals.
- Coordinate BIM execution plans and model deliverables.
- Manage clash detection, resolution meetings, and laser scan data integration.
- Provide leadership in mobile device and field technology support.
- Mentor and guide VDC team members and collaborate with cross‑disciplinary partners.
- Support business development through proposals and estimates.
- At least 7 years of experience in VDC/BIM roles within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of BIM technologies and their application in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, Revizto and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Experience with laser scanning and point cloud data management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven track record of onsite leadership of VDC activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment on a project site and virtually.
- Experience in developing and implementing BIM execution plans.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and MEP systems.
- Willingness to work on site at a project near Baton Rouge, LA.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
