Estimator – Water Design Build
Jacobs is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to prepare a wide range of estimates – from conceptual to detailed design – for complex environmental, heavy civil, operations and maintenance, military and government facility projects. The role is based in any U.S. location and will involve reviewing design documents, attending design development meetings, visiting sites to define scope and cost impacts, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities- Develop project work breakdown structures, take‑offs, and complete scope of work estimates.
- Assist contracts staff with statements of work for subcontractors and vendors.
- Apply construction means and methods, prepare schedules, and calculate indirect field and owner’s costs.
- Collaborate with design teams to define the level of input required for construction estimates.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and analyze historical data to support estimating.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, estimating, scheduling, and database software.
- Experience with industry estimating software such as Timberline, HCSS Heavy Bid, and MII Estimating systems.
- Understanding of estimating process, quantity take‑off, crew development, productivity relationships, material quotations, contingency/risk, markup structures, and estimate documentation.
- Proficient in quantitative risk analysis using @Risk and Primavera Risk Analysis.
- Experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project for scheduling.
- Able to travel to meet project needs.
- Strong written, oral, and presentation skills; able to complete tasks independently.
- Adept at interpersonal relationship building and conflict resolution; experience mentoring junior staff.
