The HVAC Engineer serves as the lead HVAC engineer on projects from concept through construction administration. The role involves developing mechanical designs and construction documents, coordinating design tasks with junior engineers when appropriate, and supporting the project through construction. The HVAC Engineer also reviews shop drawings, responds to RFIs, and works directly with contractors in the field to address construction issues and support successful project execution.
Essential Functions:
- DraftsHVACconstructiondrawingsincludingdetails,plansandsectionsinaccordancewithfirmstandardsandguidelines.
- PerformsHVACloadandenergycalculations.
- DesignsHVACsystems.
- SelectsHVACequipment.
- CoordinatesallHVAC-relateddocumentationanddrawingsthroughouttheprojectlifecycletoensureproductionflow.
- Recognizes,analyzes,andmaketimely,critical,andcost-effectivedecisions.
- LeadHVACdesigneffortsanddetaileddrawingswithstaffandapplicableconsultantsthatmeetallcoderequirements,clientcommitmentsandcontractualobligations.
- Respondstoclientquestionsandconcernsinatimelyandthoroughmanner.
- Leaddesigndiscussionsandcarrydesignconceptthroughtoprojectdrawings, implementingsustainablestrategies.
- Researchandassessbuildingperformanceandotherregulations.
Conductotherimportantengineeringresearchasnecessary. - Contributestodesigndiscussionsandcarrydesignconceptthroughtoprojectdrawings.
Position Requirements:
- Represent the firm and market its capabilities.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Design Certification
- Well-versed in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
