Game Day Ushers & Ticket Takers – Temporary Part-Time
Location:
Syracuse University. The Dome is seeking Temporary Game Day Usher & Ticket Takers staff to work on an as-needed basis for events in the academic season (June 2025 through May 2026). This role supports SU Football & Basketball games, major events, and special events such as concerts. Team members may continue with the Dome for multiple seasons.
- Ushers:
Professionally assist guests with seat location, escort guests as needed, monitor sections to ensure guest safety, observe and report matters of concern to the Area Supervisor, interact with guests to provide assistance, and aid in orderly evacuation if required. Excellent customer service is required. - Ticket Takers:
Greet guests, scan tickets with handheld scanners to verify valid event admission, confirm scanner displays the correct message, monitor and assist with crowd flow, and aid in orderly evacuation if required.
- Outgoing, polite, friendly, assertive, and detail-oriented.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Able to engage guests in high-pressure situations while remaining calm and professional.
- Flexible availability for events that typically last 4–6 hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays. Availability for high-priority events (SU Football, SU Basketball, Monster Jam, and concerts) is expected.
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire event in a stadium environment.
- Occasionally required to set up/take down chairs and assist guests in a wheelchair (lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds).
- Portable ticket scanner.
- PPE provided and required to wear if needed.
