Mental Health Therapy Aide - BBHUJob Summary
The Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) fulfills objectives within the mission of the Golisano Center for Special Needs for the inpatient units.
Duties include:
engage in daily meetings with behavior team to discuss treatment plans, participate in the implementation of treatment plans, manage and graph data, identify key variables affecting patient outcomes, assist with daily living tasks while ensuring patient privacy and dignity, data management, participate in implementation of behavioral treatment procedures, use time efficiently in the absence of specific assigned responsibilities, accept responsibilities and conduct oneself in a professional manner, identify problems and suggest strategies for resolving issues, and interact with colleagues in a positive manner appropriate to audience and format.
Ability to physically manage patients.
- Graduated from high school or have earned a high school equivalency diploma (such as a GED)
- The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program. Effective April 5th, 2023
, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Mental Health Therapy Aide, SG09 title.
- Have one (1) year of full-time direct patient care experience working in a mental health setting.
Schedule based on a 40-hour work week. Day Shift, every other weekend, holidays and pass days rotating based on operational needs. Candidates will work two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts in a 40 hour work week.
