Job Summary
Responsible for performing Nerve Conduction Studies in an EMG lab according to the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) and the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab standards. Responsibilities include patient safety and providing high-quality neurodiagnostic testing.
Candidate will need to be proficient in electrode placement for nerve conduction studies and perform these studies on the median, ulnar, radial, peroneal, tibial, sural nerves, etc., by applying the appropriate stimulus and recording responses. Able to interpret waveforms, efficiently adjust all necessary parameters to obtain comprehensive results, collect and record data, and report preliminary findings to attending physicians.
Work collaboratively with other technicians, residents, and fellows. Additional responsibilities include maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful completion of an END/Neurodiagnostic Technologist program accredited by CAAHEP or at least 12 months of full-time practical training in nerve conduction studies under supervision of an experienced neurologist or physiatrist.
- Minimum of 250 patient encounters where NCSs were performed on separate occasions.
- Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree in an allied health profession (preferred).
Work Days
M-F Daytime hours.
Salary
G5: $20.48 - $34.22 (based on skills, experience, and qualifications).
