Job DescriptionRespiratory Therapist for Upstate Sleep Center
Responsibilities- Conduct nocturnal sleep testing in the Sleep Center to include monitoring of EKG, EOG, ECG, EMG, nasal/oral ventilations, chest and abdominal excursions, blood oximetry, leg and body movements and other special procedures. Recognizes sleep stages, respiratory events, limb movements for adult and pediatric patients. Understands modes of and performs positive airway pressure therapy as needed for sleep breathing disorders.
- Able to perform majority of patient care functions needed in the acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision
- A.A.S. in Respiratory Therapy
- NYS license/registration as a Respiratory Therapist or Sleep in the State of New York
- Minimum of 1 year experience in sleep testing
- RSPGT preferred but not required.
Shift: Variable work week; 8:30p-7:00a, includes weekends
