Job Summary:
Under indirect supervision, performs medical record number merges, demographic changes and contact moves with EPIC and Chartmaxx. Facilitates the timely correction of documentation errors in EPIC. Coordinates the correction of documentation errors in EPIC including but not limited to provider notes, history and problem list encounters, flow sheets, allergies, etc;
Researches and validates requests submitted for any changes in patient demographic or medical record information using all electronic systems available (internally and externally) as well as paper records/microfilmed records;
Prepares and sends communication notices to large email group on all corrections completed on a daily basis, Adds, modifies, moves, or deletes documents in EPIC and Chartmaxx, Performs identity medical record merges, chart corrections, contact moves, etc. in EPIC and Chartmaxx.
Associates degree in Health Information Management and two years of relevant medical records experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent communication, analytical, computer and multi-tasking skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with electronic medical record systems strongly preferred.
