Overview
Child Life Specialist - Pediatric ICU at Upstate Medical University
Key Responsibilities- Provide developmental and psychosocial support for pediatric patients and families.
- Assess children's developmental and coping needs.
- Provide preparation, age appropriate diversion and motional support to minimize distress associated with hospitalization and/or medical encounters.
- Collaborates as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team.
- Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology or related field.
- Must have completed a Child Life Internship under the direct supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist.
- Current Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential required or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Monday - Friday, Rotating Weekends
