A Medical Technologis t is a clinical laboratory scientist who performs clinical laboratory procedures and examinations pursuant to established and approved protocols of the Department of Health. May have contact with:

• Laboratory personnel, supervisors, managers
• Vendors and regulatory or accrediting agencies

• The work environment is primarily a laboratory setting.
• Regularly both stationary and required to move about from work station to station
• Frequently required to perform duties associated with the use of a computer and laboratory instruments
• Ability to grasp small objects and perform tasks associated with eye-hand coordination
• Ability to distinguish details of objects less than a few feet away and determine and detect difference between size, color, numbers, shades, and brightness, as well as differentiate sounds.
• Frequently required to communicate with other staff
• Ability to frequently lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
