Cardiac Perfusionist - Per Diem

Description: Days, 8-hour shift

Under the direction of the cardiac surgeon, sets up and maintains the heart lung machine and monitors the patient during open heart surgical procedures. Provides technical and clinical support to the perioperative care team.

Graduate of an accredited school of perfusion. NYS perfusion licensure or eligibility for licensure. Participates in orientation and continuing education to maintain knowledge and skills in areas of expertise.

Demonstrates manual dexterity and ability to handle mechanical equipment and instruments.

OSHA Category I. Hazards include exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and risk of physical injury. Potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.

Moderate pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, standing, walking, stooping, and reaching.

Patients, employees, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and operating room staff.

Supervised by the Cardiac Surgery Section Chief, Director of Surgical Services, and Perfusion Coordinator. No supervisory responsibilities.

$79.59 - $108.97 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Pay varies by location.
