Job Overview
Supervise banquet staff during setup, service, and breakdown for assigned functions. Ensure a safe and efficient event execution while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest service.
Essential Job Functions- Check server and houseperson banquet event orders to ensure all information is accurate.
- Verify room setup follows banquet event order directions and public areas remain neat and clean.
- Communicate with group representatives and explain contact procedures when needed.
- Relay banquet event order changes to catering or convention services and affected departments.
- Coordinate banquet staff setup, changes and time schedules for all functions.
- Assess staffing levels for next day's functions and adjust schedules by adding or cancelling servers, bartenders, and house persons.
- Operate as a banquet server when needed, handling setting‑up, greeting, serving guests and breaking down the function.
- Inspect banquet areas at end of function to ensure all equipment is returned to its proper area and all areas are clean.
- Post all banquet checks at end of day and submit to Night Audit.
Skills and Abilities
Must have a strong beverage background and the ability to communicate in English. Self‑starting personality with an even disposition. Met appearance standards and can communicate well with guests. Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room continuously throughout the shift. Willing to pitch‑in and help co‑workers, demonstrating a team‑player attitude.
QualificationsExperience working in banquet/event management and beverage experience required. Experience in event management or catering preferred. Minimum 2 years in banquet/event management and beverage background.
