The Associate Data Engineer will support the organization’s data engineering activities, enterprise reporting through Microsoft Power BI, and maintain IT/OT and data analytics applications. This hybrid position requires employee presence on site 50‑100%.
Duties & Responsibilities- Support data engineering activities and maintain existing data integrations to various systems.
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines to transform data into usable information.
- Assist with maintaining LOTTE’s Data Warehouse and Data Lake, including writing solution abstracts and documentation.
- Implement best practices for data management: governance, quality, and security.
- Monitor and optimize data workflows for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data‑related issues promptly.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather and document business requirements for analytics solutions.
- Design and develop interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Support existing IT/OT analytic applications and maintain them in an audit‑ready state.
- Generate documentation including design specifications, work instructions, and knowledge‑based articles.
- Provide administrative support to analytical applications such as AVEVA PI, Process Pad, JMP, Info Batch, and eForms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science or related disciplines preferred.
- 1‑3 years of experience in a data engineering/analytics role; experience in biologics production or medical devices is a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent problem‑solving, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with data engineering activities, ETL/ELT processes, data integrations, and APIs.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (audits, fact tables, metric marts) and database administration best practices.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory – building, managing, and running pipelines; connecting to on‑prem and cloud sources.
- Strong SQL skills: stored procedures, functions, indexing, CTEs, advanced sub‑queries, views, and query optimization.
- Experience creating Microsoft Power BI reports – data source modeling, DAX, end‑to‑end dashboards.
- Team player, open to sharing expertise and learning.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while providing escalation when needed.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Attention to detail and personal accountability.
- Good interpersonal skills, customer focus, and professionalism.
- Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and continuous improvement mindset.
Work within all site facilities, requiring high attention to detail and occasional use of personal protective equipment.
Work EnvironmentInternally oriented role with frequent collaboration. Requires presence on site 50‑100% and may involve occasional shift work, weekends, and holidays.
Travel5% travel required.
Target Bonus8%
Work Location & Pay RangeEast Syracuse, NY. New York Pay Range: $60,000 USD – $88,000 USD.
