Position: Summer 2026 (1L) Law Clerk
Location: City of Syracuse

Summer 2026 (1L) Law Clerk – Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC.

Bond invites first‑year law students (Class of 2028) to apply for the M. Catherine Richardson 1L Clerkship Program. The clerkship provides full‑time on‑site work, a weekly salary of $2,115, and a ten‑week schedule beginning summer 2026. Office locations include Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, NY.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full‑time first‑year law student in good standing at an ABA‑accredited law school.
  • Strong academic performance and clear written and verbal communication.
  • Team‑player who takes initiative and participates in community‑benefiting activities.
  • Brings a unique perspective or skill set to the legal profession as a result of personal background or life experience.

Required Application Materials

  • Official first‑year law school transcript (fall semester). Grades may be submitted later.
  • Current resume that includes undergraduate GPA or class standing.
  • Typed personal statement of 1,000 words or less that explains: professional aspirations; how the student brings a unique perspective or skill set; office location(s) of interest and any connection to the geographic area.

Selection Criteria

  • Review of eligibility criteria above.
  • Interest in working at Bond.
  • Immediate family or household members of Bond, Schoeneck & King members and employees are ineligible.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with a final deadline of February 2, 2026.

The weekly salary for this position will be $2,115. The selected applicant will be responsible for providing their own lodging for the duration of the clerkship.
