As a Fabricator, you’ll be responsible for cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling metal components based on blueprints and technical drawings. Your work will support the creation of high-quality structural and architectural steel products used in public and private projects across Central New York.
Core Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Select appropriate materials and tools for each job
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, shears, presses, welders, and grinders
- Cut, weld, bend, and assemble metal components with precision
- Conduct quality checks and inspections to meet tolerances and standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines
- Occasionally assist with loading and unloading materials or products
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in fabrication, metalworking, or a related trade
- Ability to read shop drawings and technical specifications
- Skilled in fabrication tools and equipment operation
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work standing for extended periods
- Vocational training, certifications, or apprenticeship preferred
- Welding experience and certification a plus
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Must be able to kneel, crouch, climb, stoop, and work from ladders
- Ability to perform repetitive hand motions and fine manipulation
- Work in a loud, indoor/outdoor production environment with exposure to heat, vibration, and slippery surfaces
- Required PPE: steel-toed, slip-resistant boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
