Screw Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Position in Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division. Core hours are 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Hourly rate: $21.71.

• Direct, assist, and lead a group of employees performing various machining operations.
• Ensure workflow efficiency, quality standards, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Perform minor machine adjustments and support production continuity.
• Perform threading, grooving, chamfering, turning, tapping, reaming, serrating, boring, facing, drilling, and similar operations on conventional machines.
• Produce parts from a variety of materials.
• Make minor tooling adjustments and resets to maintain specified dimensions.
• Inspect first pieces and verify machine setup before releasing to operators.
• Adhere to machine safety procedures.
• Operate single and multi‑spindle drill presses and other conventional machines.
• Load castings and bar stock to maintain continuous machine operation.
• Wash and pack plated parts to support machine cycles.
• Use measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, verniers, scales) to verify part accuracy.
• Detect and report faulty operations or materials.
• Operate forklift and hand trucks to move materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Perform TPM activities: cleaning, inspection, lubrication, tightening bolts.
• Perform base clean outs as needed.

• Minimum of one (1) year of machining operations experience.
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• No immigration sponsorship or relocation benefit available; only candidates residing within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY will be considered.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
• Proficient in using measuring instruments and maintaining tolerances.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to manufacturing environment including noise, dust, and temperature variations.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
