Aseptic Filling Technician – 2nd Shift
Location: Syracuse, NY
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: From $25.00/hour (commensurate with experience)
Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)
Core hours are 3PM - 9PM. There is flexibility in shift start and end time. Examples of shift times could include: 1PM - 9:30PM, 2PM - 10:30PM or 3PM - 11:30PM. Working days are Monday - Friday. Training will take place on 1st shift with the hours of 6AM – 4:30PM.
Shift Differential: 15% for 3rd shift hours

Position SummarySeeking a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented Aseptic Filling Technician to support sterile manufacturing operations on 2nd shift. This role is responsible for performing aseptic filling processes, equipment operation, component preparation, and maintaining ISO-classified cleanroom environments in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Note: Initial orientation and on-the-job training will take place on 1st shift (6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform sterile product filling procedures while maintaining aseptic technique in ISO-rated cleanroom environments
- Prepare and handle components for sterile filling per SOPs and documentation requirements
- Set up, operate, and monitor equipment including:
- Filling machines and filler parts
- Powder recovery systems
- Vial washers and sterilizing tunnels
- Turntables, conveyors, and autoclaves
- Clean and sanitize cleanroom walls, floors, and equipment following established SOPs
- Perform preventative maintenance and replace worn or damaged equipment parts
- Operate autoclaves to steam-sterilize machine parts and components
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain qualification for aseptic area work
- Collaborate with other technicians to learn and support manufacturing processes
- May qualify to perform Quality Control environmental monitoring tasks
- Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Some responsibilities include tearing down machines and putting back together.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s Degree in Science or related field preferred
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments performing similar duties
Skills and Requirements:
- Mechanical aptitude required
- Experience in a regulated industry strongly preferred
- Training provided on-site
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work overtime and additional days as needed
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to train on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift
